Here is the new Maraudeur album. It's called Puißance 4, which immediately reminded me of the game Puissance 4 (Power 4) that I played with some old people that my mother would pay to look after me. Figuring out why Maraudeur titled their album in reference to this shit game is beyond me, so I will instead try to explain why I find this album to be gr8.
1: Ah man, I'm so tired of these lockdowns! 2: Boop! 1: Boop? 2: Yeah, The Boop ! 1: Come on...what are you on about? 2: Well, the Boop is Danny's sidetracked project... 1: Sidetracked..? 2: Yeah, sidetracked, anyway, during 2nd lockdown when he was living alone in this Parisian flat and... 1: Oh yeah, that reminds me when I was... 2: Oh shush please...just take a listen to this!
Alesk, for me, is Aleks, as in Aleksandra, a pollish first name, even though it is written in a Swedish passeport, even though she grew up in South Africa, became a teen in Switzerland and lives between Germany and France now... ANYWAYS. One could say "Luxury", her first album, is a rap / trap DIY recording, and what I say is yeah-sure-whatever. Integrity, humor and friendship are the key words. That's what matters.
Climb aboard the Stratotoaster– combining spindly surf riffs, slightly burnt toast and hot-rod thrills to take us on a joyride through a sexy hellscape. Bring a towel too, because you never know.
There are so many fun things you can do to pass the time between days. Chopping garlic will eat up a few minutes. Watching TV static can absorb an hour or two. In the music video for Pont Thermique's debut single "Tu Te Calmes" collaborators Marius and Amélie push the limits of their kitchen space while we watch through the blue frame of voyeurism.
I couldn't stop myself ! Each of these small images is as attractive as the next. I would have needed six pairs of eyes and three brains, but I took the time, methodically, looking from bottom to top, and from right to left. I didn't want to miss any, not one. It was like finding a tidy treasure chest, where every piece inside is precious, with its own story.
Marius Atherton is a tall, slender man with a thousand facets. His silky hair, his well-designed mouth, and his passion for large expanses of water offer us beautiful songs. Marius has compiled his grand compositions into a debut album that I invite you to discover by closing your eyes very tightly to find the little animals that lie dormant inside you.
Juicebumps was a trio, but now they are four. They live in the San Francisco Bay Area. This album is great. the sound is beautiful and it is very pleasant to let yourself be carried away by the songs. If you understand a little English it's even better, because Parker sings in English, like many Americans still today.
